Drive south, following signs for AYDIN / EPHESUS. You can take the old highway (blue signs) or the motorway (green signs). Either way, the drive to Şirince is just under an hour. Use the Selçuk Exit if you take the motorway. The Şirince turn is signposted on the LEFT as you enter Selçuk. Drive 8 kms to Şirince. In Şirince
Note our totem pole at the entrance of the village just past the WELCOME TO SIRINCE sign. Turn right. Drive 1.2 km to Nisanyan Inn on our somewhat bumpy and dusty but perfectly safe road that winds around the village. Follow the snail signs, making a left and then a sharp right. DON'T drive into the village center and try the shortcut from village square. You will almost certainly get stuck. For Kilisealti Guesthouse: Don't turn right at the WELCOME TO SIRINCE sign. Take the cobblestone street which goes right at an angle immediately after this. Park if you find a slot. The guesthouse is 100 metres from the start of the street.
Shall we pick you up at the Airport?
There is no convenient public transport between the airport and Selçuk. You can take the airport shuttle to Izmir Bus Terminal, then take a bus to Selçuk, and then the minibus to Sirince. We'll send a car or minivan to pick you up at the airport at $ 65 per trip. Check the Transfer box on the Reservations page to use this service. By Car from Istanbul
Easiest is to take the fast ferry Istanbul-Bandirma, which runs three or four times a day and crosses the sea of Marmara in two hours. You can buy tickets online here. From Bandirma it is a 365-km drive to Şirince via Balikesir-Izmir-Selçuk. You can do it comfortably in less than 5 hours. By Car from the South
It is slightly faster to take the Aydin-Izmir motorway and use the Selçuk exit. You will have to drive 10 km back South and enter the town from the NORTH as described above. What if you have no car?
A public minibus runs between Selçuk and Şirince every half hour from 8 am until about sunset. It leaves from the Selçuk bus station. In summer the last minibus is usually at 8 pm. The trip takes 15 minutes and costs about 2 dollars. If you miss the last minibus there are plenty of taxis which will bring you up to the village for about 25 dollars.
